  1. A concert started at 9.50 a.m. and ended at 12.25 p.m. How long was the concert?

    Answer: 2 h 35 min

    From 9.50 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. is 2 h 10 min, then 25 min more, making 2 h 35 min.

  2. A match began at 4.35 p.m. and lasted 1 h 50 min. What time did it end?

    Answer: 6.25 p.m.

    4.35 p.m. plus 1 h 50 min is 6.25 p.m..

  3. Write 7.20 p.m. in 24-hour time.

    Answer: 19 20

    7.20 p.m. is 12 hours after 7.20 a.m., which is 19 20.

  4. What is 06 45 in 12-hour time?

    Answer: 6.45 a.m.

    06 45 is in the morning, so 6.45 a.m.

  5. A flight departed at 10.40 p.m. and landed at 1.15 a.m. the next day. How long was the flight?

    Answer: 2 h 35 min

    From 10.40 p.m. to midnight is 1 h 20 min, then 1 h 15 min more, making 2 h 35 min.

  6. 210 minutes = ?

    Answer: 3 h 30 min

    210 ÷ 60 = 3 hours with 30 minutes left, so 3 h 30 min.

  7. A month has 31 days and the 1st is a Wednesday. What day of the week is the 31st?

    Answer: Friday

    31 − 1 = 30 days later, and 30 = 4 weeks + 2 days, so Wednesday plus 2 days is Friday.

  8. A lesson ends at 11.05 a.m. and lasts 2 h 50 min. What time did it start?

    Answer: 8.15 a.m.

    11.05 a.m. minus 2 h 50 min is 8.15 a.m..

  9. How many days are there from 18 March to 12 April, not counting 18 March itself?

    Answer: 25 days

From 19 to 31 March is 13 days, plus 12 days of April, making 25 days.

  10. A coach leaves at 1.20 p.m. and travels 180 km at 80 km/h. What time does it arrive?

    Answer: 3.35 p.m.

    180 ÷ 80 = 2.25 hours = 2 h 15 min, so the coach arrives at 3.35 p.m..
