PSLE and school papers

SEAB Past Year Papers and Free School Exam Papers

Official PSLE past year papers come from SEAB, not from this site. What SG Exam Hub has is 2,299 free exam papers set by 28 Singapore primary schools, for Primary 2 to Primary 6, 2019 to 2025. This page explains the difference and where to go for each.

What are SEAB past year papers?

SEAB, the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board, runs the national exams in Singapore, including the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) that students take at the end of Primary 6. When parents talk about "SEAB past year papers" or "PSLE past year papers", they usually mean the actual PSLE question papers from earlier years.

Those papers are the most accurate guide to what the PSLE asks, because they are the PSLE. They are also limited in number: one set per subject per year, which a motivated student can work through quickly.

Where to get official SEAB papers

SEAB is the source for official PSLE papers. Check the SEAB website for its current information on past PSLE papers and how they are made available.

SG Exam Hub does not host, sell or link to copies of official SEAB papers. If you find a site offering them for free download, it is worth checking whether it has the right to share them.

Free school exam papers for practice

School exam papers fill the gap. Every Singapore primary school sets its own weighted assessments and end-of-year exams, and in Primary 6 most schools set a preliminary exam in the PSLE format a few weeks before the PSLE. These papers are written by experienced teachers to the same syllabus, so they are the closest practice to the real exam that is available in quantity.

On SG Exam Hub you can open 2,299 of these papers for free, including 510 from Primary 6, and download any of them as a PDF with no sign-up. Start with the free school test papers guide, or go straight to the Primary 6 papers below.

PSLE vs school papers: what's the difference

Who sets them
PSLE papers are set by SEAB for every student in Singapore. School papers are set by one school for its own students.
Difficulty
Many schools set P6 preliminary papers a little harder than the PSLE, so that the real exam feels manageable. A low prelim score is not a prediction of the PSLE result.
Format
P6 preliminary papers usually copy the PSLE format: the same papers, sections and question types. Papers from earlier levels are shorter and cover less of the syllabus.
Grading
The PSLE reports each subject as an Achievement Level from AL1 to AL8. School papers are marked out of a total, which is easier to use for tracking progress from one paper to the next.
How many there are
There is one PSLE paper set per subject each year. There are dozens of school papers per subject each year, which is what makes them useful for regular practice.

A good plan uses both: school papers through the year, and official PSLE papers, if you have them, as a final check of the real standard.
