Parallel lines stay the same distance apart and never meet.
Two lines meet at a right angle. What are they called?
Answer: Perpendicular
Lines that meet at 90° are perpendicular to each other.
How many pairs of parallel sides does a rectangle have?
Answer: 2
The two long sides are parallel to each other, and so are the two short sides: 2 pairs.
At 3 o'clock, what is the relationship between the hour hand and the minute hand of a clock?
Answer: Perpendicular
At 3 o'clock the hands are a quarter turn apart, which is 90°, so they are perpendicular.
